Wow ! I found this on Rob Paterson’s blog, where he’s highlighted it as the power of the amateur to capture items of interest in ways that professional news gatherers sometimes don’t … and of course having a blog to post it to then allows it to be widely distributed.

It is a great picture, but Snopes names it a photo from 2002, of the Qian Tang Jian River.
