Dude you fucking rule! I’ve been reading this janky blog for over a year now and just when I think I’m about to hit the unsubscribe button, you go and do something completely off-the-wall brilliant, and now I’m renewing my membership for life.
by the way I’m registering this comment with my email addy, could you cc that original email over to me? I’ve got some timeshare in phoenix and penis enlargers I need to sell…
sincerely,
Fanforlife.

Tim ..
1st .. I am going to assume you are not pulling my leg. I clicked through to you r blog, skimmed a bit, and have no idea why you would find anything I might think or write of any interest to you.
2nd .. what the fuck does “janky” mean ?
3rd .. what do you mean by cc that original email over to me so as to help you sell 2nd rate real estate and genital giantism ?
Are you a spam bot ? i think so .. if not, well, i apologize, but ya know how it goes

I would assume Tim is joking. What he said about needing a list with which to spam is a familiar joke on lists where someone has committed a CC fox paw.
He’s enthusiastic about developing code, some of which pertains directly to the web. So this blog would interest him. Janky can mean musty, in disrepair or simply held in low popular esteem. It’s not necessarily pejorative. It can be affectionate. Someone reading for a year probably views it affectionately.
I took the comment as friendly.

This your defining moment Jon. You will be forever known as an E-Hole. AND I am simply going to have to rent Pleasantville, once I get through a couple of films Scruggsy sent - I’m half way through one - The Battle of Algiers - watch that and see if you don’t immediately see some recurring structures, let alone themes.

Hi Jon,
I deeply apologize if my words weren’t taken with the humor I intended them to be taken as. Sometimes I’m just not funny. I was indeed pulling your leg, and janky was meant to be a term of affection. Although I do spend most of my time reading development blogs I like reading yours quite a bit as it makes my blog reading more interesting. I find I agree with you on a lot of issues particularly when it comes to pointing out what a complete fucknut the president is.
So I hope I can retract my little blog comment, and go back to reading anonymously.
Apologetically,
Tim Case
p.s. if you want timeshare in phoenix or a penis enlarger, call me, I promise I won’t tell anyone! (<–sorry couldn’t help myself)

Tim .. thanks so much for the clarification. Sometimes there’s spam that says stuff like “great blog, bro”, etc. .. and as I’ll elaborate immediately below, I tend towards suspicion of anyone whom I don’t know being nice to me.
As for me .. I always find it amazing when I realize that someone other than my brother and the two or three weirdos I have come to know (like dumpsterdan, or bmo or gaulois) actually read my blog.
And I get especially suspicious when they actually say something nice or encouraging !
So, thanks so much .. one of the reasons I started blogging was to connect with people, and the other was to get myy thoughts out of my head.
I do appreciate .. a lot .. your encouragement.
Nifty little email-ish brouhaha, eh ? Didja read the items over at Jeneane’s and Euan’s places .. and now Alec Saunders and Stowe Boyd’s, and less obviously BMO’s (great post on “Fucking Policies”) ?
Yippee-yi-yo-ki-yay !

Oh, and you don’t need to remain anonymous. I hope that (if you ever read my comments sections) you’ll believe that i am an open-minded, tolerant, friendly and welcoming person. I don’t always wear deodorant, but you’ll never be able to tell here.
I’d appreciate getting to know you better, so please feel free to comment. That’s what this webby blogging thingy is (mostly) all about, imo.
