It certainly seems that more people will be left behind and that we are heading into some serious social unrest. Not sure what is the impact of the changing world of medias, blogging and web 2.0 on all of this. Will this social unrest thrive on this? I somehow doubt it. I wonder too if in some ways these new virtual environments do not represent another kind of “gated” communities that we like to think are “open”. David Simon claimed afterall that “gated communities” will thrive under this social unrest.
