Warning !! … Click “Forward” To See What Happens

In the last couple of days I have received email notifications that several highly-trusted friends of mine have posted a message to the Super wall on my Facebook profile page.

yep, that was that last straw.

haven’t accepted a facebook invite (including ones from you) in ages. just too damn weird. it’s a handy way to keep in touch with some people, but for the most part it’s useless.

I agree with both of you.
As things keep moving forward with this Intenetthingy, I think we will find that the good ole blog will remain the fallback effective “social networking” thing for a long time .. it takes just eniugh work to let other people “know’ who you are, expose our beliefs, depth and breadth as much as you want or not, ‘host” conversations, reach out and connect 9or not) as nmuch or as little as you like .. in short, offer as much of the magic of the virtual world as you want to create or don’t want to accept, while making use of the learning available, and so on.
At least for me.
I do think additional social networking platforms will come along that will be widely adopted, but I suspect that they will be based on (for example) Google OpenSocial, and will be ‘”constrained” by purpose and be semi-private and semi-open. Like life.

Yes, it’s got to the state where I ignore virtually every invite. As I said in a recent blog post “following the irritation I - and a number of other friends - had been feeling with Vampires, “funny” videos, LOLcatz I removed FunWall and SuperWall.”

Sounds like over reaction to me. I get these requests too and just ignore them. If they really bugged me I’d remove FunWall, but to lose the most effective way I have of communicating with several of my friends just because on app upset me is just silly.

yes, Steve. personally I think FBook has nowehere to go but down over time.

Social networkubf platforms as a genre are hear to stay, but they will become focused - built and active - around purpose, and for smaller groups of peoples. Just my opinion.
