1600 Metres and a Day of Rest and Relaxation

Jut a light day in the pool, swimming widths not lengths.

That’s great, Jon.

I so miss my pool. My parents had a pool in the back yard when I was growing up and when I lived in Singapore we had an awesome lap pool outside my building.

I could never think of swimming 1600m. Damn! Good on you, my man.

Hey, thanks for stopping by !

While I appreciate your apprehension, I think almost everyone that can swim could swim for 1600 metres.

I think that the trick is to not try too hard, not get competitive with oneself … just take your time. One stroke at a time, water is very forgiving and “nice to your body”.

I’m lucky… swimming came naturally to me ata young age, and I’ve been doing it so long (45 years at least) that it sometimes feels like I am on auto-pilot.

It’s also very very good for meditation and relaxation … when I drop into the water at the beginning of a pool, it’s like going into a private sanctuary or chapel. It totally relaxes and de-stresses me.
